The entire armoured passenger cell made from steel, glass and aramide fabric is hidden from view. A special feature is the attachment method developed by Audi – the armour-plating materials overlap at all the joints, thus providing an unparalleled level of security. The Audi A8 Security is produced using a complex manufacturing process – at our own factory.

The Audi A8 Security maintains its dynamic driving characteristics, even in critical situations. Powered by a W12 petrol engine (331 kW / 450 bhp), the armoured saloon displays superior acceleration properties and reaches 100 km/h from a standstill in just a few seconds. The quattro permanent four-wheel drive system and the innovative tiptronic transmission ensure that the power is always transmitted directly to where it is needed – on the road.

Audi engineers have equipped the A8 Security with a special emergency exiting system. If, in the event of an emergency, the doors can no longer be opened in the usual way, the joints between the doors and the body can be disengaged by a pyrotechnic system patented by Audi. This enables you to leave the vehicle quickly and easily – whenever you require.

Fax, telephone, video and monitors turn the Audi A8 Security into a fully-functional mobile office. The vehicle’s equipment is supplemented by convenience extras such as a cooler box, a bar, a humidor and a DVD player. And Audi will be happy to help you with any other customising requirements.

Your Audi A8 Security can provide you with even more protection. Pennant holders in the front wings, the rotating beacon on the roof and the flashing LED lights in the wing mirrors attract attention. With the PAX run-flat system you can continue your journey even if the tyres are damaged – for a distance of approx. 50 kilometres and a speed of up to 80 km/h. Armour-plating on the fuel tank and battery provides extra protection for these important components. The hazard alarm in the car’s interior draws attention to the vehicle in the event of an emergency and the intercom system enables you to speak to people outside the car, even when the windows are closed. The fire extinguishing system can be used to put out any fires that may be started.
