Audi quattro Cup 2011 qualifying leg

Audi drivers in Singapore have once again pitted their skills against each other at the local leg of the annual Audi quattro Cup at Sentosa Golf Club. This year, 230 participants competed for the hole-in-one prize, the Audi A7 Sportback as well as four coveted spots in the Singapore finals, which will be held in September 2011.

Making their way into the country final are two teams: Jeffrey Tan and Mohd Zain B. Ahmad, who won their round on the Tanjong course and Tang Weili and Tuan Peak Hin who won at the Serapong course. The winning team will go on to represent Singapore at the Audi quattro Cup 2011 World Final at Mission Hills, China from November 7 to 11, 2011.

The world’s most advanced live scoring platform, VPAR, was also introduced at the tournament this year and it was very well-received. Players had to key in their scores at the end of each round, and the scores were immediately calculated and uploaded to all leaderboards instantaneously. VPAR kept the game extremely competitive and several participants commented that it was refreshing to be constantly updated with live scorings.

Aside from the tournament, other activities were also rolled out – there were rooftop cocktails at the Pavilion for sundowners, shoulder massages for the participants after the game as well coaching clinics by Quincy Quek, pro-golfer and Audi ambassador.

The Audi quattro Cup is the largest and most prestigious amateur golf tournament in the world. Last year saw Audi dealers from across 52 different countries worldwide organise a total of 760 tournaments participated by over 87,000 amateur golfers.
