It’s not just the stylish exterior of the new Audi R8 V10 Coupé that’s impressive. The sporty elegance, classy materials and precise workmanship of the interior are just as captivating. Every detail meets high demands. Both functional and aesthetic – such as the optional R8 sport seats in classy fine Nappa leather with diamond pattern. Choose from a total of 28 different colour combinations and set your very own tone in the cockpit. Because real style is defined by personality.
Perfect handling in every situation
In the cockpit, everything is geared to what’s essential: the driver. Engine start-up, driving dynamics, engine sound, infotainment or gear changing – all these functions can be controlled directly via the R8 performance leather steering wheel with four operating satellites. Without you having to take your hands off the contoured rim.
A further highlight is the Bang & Olufsen Sound System; The Audi R8 sports seats are equipped with four Bang & Olufsen headrest speakers for an unforgettable sound experience.
The cockpit of the new Audi R8 V10 Coupé meets the highest standards – only a few centimetres above the asphalt. The optional R8 bucket seats in classy fine Nappa leather in rotor grey embody premium craftsmanship and let driver and vehicle become one. With heavily contoured bolsters and the integrated head restraints, the seats are reflective of a race car interior and provide excellent lateral support. For a driving experience that redefines sportiness.
The MMI navigation plus with MMI touch is also standard on board. The operation is based on modern smartphones and is characterised by flat hierarchies, including free text search. For controlling, use the steering wheel, the MMI terminal on the console of the centre tunnel or the natural voice control operation. In the R8 Spyder V10, the latter is particularly convenient: it is provided using three small microphones in the seat belts.
In the interior design too, the taut geometric lines emphasize the aesthetic lightweight construction of the brand. The interior concept based around the “monoposto” approach – a first for Audi – makes a clear statement. In the Audi R8, you’ll find a driver-focused axis at the center of the “monoposto” arc that encompasses the driver. Extending out from it is the instrument panel body, shaped like an airfoil. The monoposto philosophy places the driver at the center of everything. By providing drivers with the best possible architecture, you can concentrate on what a sports car like the Audi R8 was built for: Driving. Monoposto represents the DNA of the Audi R8 design concept.
Audi virtual cockpit
The standard Audi virtual cockpit displays all relevant information in detailed, high-resolution 3D graphics on a 12.3-inch monitor. Three views are available, each representing different information in the foreground - the classic view, the infotainment and the performance view. The latter focuses on data for torque, power, oil and tyre temperature, lap time and g-forces, and is therefore particularly suitable for ambitious drives on the racetrack.
