Brand ambassador and pro golfer Quincy Quek tries out the new Audi Live View service, an interactive, one-on-one online car demo.
As part of Audi’s mission to create innovative new digital services for our customers, we’ve recently launched Audi Live View. Designed for today’s busy lifestyles – and ideal for times when social distancing is being encouraged – it connects you “live” with an Audi expert in our showroom via online video call. Simply click to book a convenient time slot via our website, select the Audi models you’d like to view, and you’ll soon be linked up.
Using a gimbal device to ensure a stabilised video, our Audi experts present and demonstrate the car’s features. You can ask any questions you have or request to zoom in on a specific detail. So now you have the flexibility to view any Audi from the comfort of home, work or even when out and about via your smartphone or tablet.
So how does it work in practice? We caught up with Audi brand ambassador and pro golfer Quincy Quek at Tanah Merah Country Club to see what he made of it.
MYAUDIWORLD: Firstly, how’s life been for you and family the last few months?
QQ: Well it has been quite a challenging time! We have a three-year-old daughter with a lot of energy, so not easy in our small living space at home during the circuit breaker. Our family has been growing too – my wife gave birth to our baby son in April. With the recent travel and quarantine restrictions it means I haven’t been able to compete in any tournaments on the circuit – so rather than playing golf, I’ve been playing nanny!
MYAUDIWORLD: How’s your experience using Audi Live View?
QQ: I think it’s great. I used my appointment to have a good look over the new Audi A4 Sedan – the video quality allowed me to clearly see all the upgrades. It’s funny, but for some reason, compared to being at the showroom, it was easier for me asking some pretty basic questions about the car without feeling stupid!
MYAUDIWORLD: Do you need to be a tech-head to use Audi Live View?
QQ: Not at all! It’s as simple as making a Zoom video call with a friend or colleague, and we’ve all got more used to doing that recently.
MYAUDIWORLD: Why do you think it suits your lifestyle?
QQ: Well, in normal circumstances I travel overseas often, so it can be hard to find time to get down to the showroom in person. When I’m home in Singapore I love to spend as much quality time with the family as possible – especially now we have a second child. And to be honest, heading to the showroom with our baby might be a bit of a hassle, so overall Audi Live View makes a much more comfortable experience.
What’s it like for the Audi expert on the other end of the Audi Live View? We went to the Audi showroom to speak to Raymond Yeo, Training Manager at Premium Automobiles.
MYAUDIWORLD: Why have we introduced Audi Live View?
RY: Audi is always trying to improve the customer experience and this is an opportunity to try something new using technology. If you’re interested in looking for a new car but maybe not quite ready to commit, Audi Live View is ideal. Rather than making multiple, time-consuming showroom visits across town, you can quickly get a good look at any Audi model while staying home. It also means you don’t have to mix with people if you’re keen on staying socially distanced.
MYAUDIWORLD: How is the experience different from customers going to the showroom physically?
RY: It’s as good as viewing the car in person, without actually being here. Our gimbal device allows us to film a nice steady video shot of the car with no blurry pictures. We can easily show the finer points of the virtual cockpit or walk through the controls of the latest MMI touch display, for example. The Audi experts have adjusted quickly to using Audi Live View and it now feels quite natural talking with our customers this way.
MYAUDIWORLD: How do you think customers will enjoy the experience?
RY: I think people will appreciate the direct interaction with us via the Internet. The “live” aspect is a key benefit – the customer has a chance to ask any questions they want during their Audi Live View session. They can also get us to zoom in on certain features immediately. It certainly keeps us Audi experts on our toes!
