From its razor-sharp looks to its modernised, fully-connected interior and bigger profile, the all-new Audi A3 impresses in every way.
Launched recently in Singapore via an online premiere, the new Audi A3 Sedan and Audi A3 Sportback display all the automotive ingenuity of Audi. The result: a new Audi A3 series that surpasses its predecessor in looks, technology and comfort by featuring a completely new exterior design, a full interior cabin revamp with the latest technological advancements in personalised digitalisation, and premium features such as park assist and lane departure warning.
The Audi A3 is hugely successful in incorporating the premium features of bigger Audi cars in a compact size, and the new Audi A3 Sedan and Audi A3 Sportback are sure to build on this success.
Host of the online premiere, Mediacorp CLASS 95 DJ and Audi Brand Ambassador Yasminne Cheng, said, “Audi is all about Living Progress. This attitude goes into everything the brand does and the new Audi A3 is the perfect embodiment of Living Progress.”
“Living Progress” comprises the four key components of Sustainability, Design, Digital and Performance, and all are clearly evident in the new Audi A3. Its production process makes more efficient use of materials and resources to minimise wastage. The car has been engineered to be even more efficient than before, increasing overall efficiency. The new Audi A3 is also a masterpiece of design, digitalisation and performance as noted by the three special guests at the online premiere of the much-awaited new Audi A3 Sedan and Sportback.
Special guest Dean Chew, director of spatial design consultancy Drawn, was impressed by the sleeker profile and stylish innovations, while Rae, who is one of Asia’s top hyper-realistic virtual influencers, admired the new Audi A3’s seamless digital connectivity. Derryn Wong, chief editor of local motoring publication, CarBuyer.com.sg, spoke highly of its new engine and its enhanced performance.
Brilliantly sculpted
The Audi A3 was first launched as the world’s first premium compact car 25 years ago. In creating the fourth generation of this already delightful and highly popular model, Audi sets new benchmarks in refining an extremely successful formula, starting with the distinctive styling aesthetic of the new Audi A3 Sedan and A3 Sportback. They command attention with their wide new Audi Singleframe design with the striking honeycomb radiator grille. On the sides, the continuous shoulder line extends to the rear doors to emphasise the length of the new Audi A3 while its wide track gives it a bold, athletic look.
These design refinements are complemented by the new Audi A3’s LED lighting signature and the distinctive, dynamic turn indicators on the rear lights. Together, the refinements give the new Audi A3 a very large presence on the road for a compact car. Inside the all-new interior, impressive refinements include the bold horizontal lines that stretch end to end to visually widen the space.
The rear of the Audi A3 Sedan and Audi A3 Sportback have been refined for a more aerodynamic look. What’s more, improvements in form have been matched by advancements in digitisation.
Blazing a trail in digitisation
It is now so seamlessly easy for smartphones to access the highly-intuitive MMI touch infotainment system. As the system supports both iOS and Android, it means Apple Carplay and Android Auto will both work for popular apps, such as Waze, Google maps, Spotify, and more.
The new Audi A3 also delivers greater comfort and intuitive operation with effortless controls expertly placed for convenient fingertip access. There is also convenient personalisation to allow up to six user profiles to store their preferred settings, including those for climate control and media. Driver-assistance technology has also been enhanced, with advanced features such as park assist and lane departure warning to help keep the car on the straight and narrow.
A little bigger and significantly better
The new Audi A3 Sedan has grown slightly and is now even more spacious with extra headroom and elbow room. As the car is completely shift by wire now, the gearshift has is now redesigned as an innovative rocker switch with a pleasingly tactile touch.
It also breaks new ground by being the first among Audi models – and the first in its class – to feature the 1.5-litre TFSI (turbo fuel stratified injection) engine with 48-volt mild hybrid technology for greater performance, more refinement and reduced emissions. The new engine is a totally new development from ground up to give even better mileage with every litre of fuel.
