Places to charge your Audi e-tron while you seize the day

Your Audi e-tron will come with a personal charging base which you can choose to install at home or at work. But for days when you’re out and about, here are our recommendations of places to visit while getting in a bit of charge into your Audi e-tron.

Under average personal use, your Audi e-tron can last you a full week before you need to charge it again — depending on your Audi e-tron model, you can clock in around 300 to 472 km in a single charge. And with your personal charging base there’s zero opportunity cost as this eliminates trips to filling stations like you would with a car with an internal combustion engine. Your Audi e-tron also has both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) charging ports allowing you more options when looking for charging points around the island.

There are currently more than 3,600 charging points by various service providers in Singapore such as Charge+, SP Group, Greenlots, and Shell Recharge. The good news is, in line with the government’s push for electric vehicles (EVs), more charging points will gradually be added across the country with a goal of hitting 60,000 by 2030. In the meantime, there are several apps that can help you locate the nearest available charging points such as the SP Utilities app and PlugShare. Through these apps, you’ll have access to locations, user reviews and pictures of the charging stations.

Aside from its obvious perks, having an EV can also come in handy when you’re looking to score a lot in a crowded car park — dedicated EV lots in car parks are often available and usually located near lift lobbies for that added convenience. Here are our picks of places where you can give your Audi e-tron added juice while you seize the day.

Funan mall is home to a diverse mix of tenants and you can find almost anything and everything in here. While you’re there shopping for your next new tech gadget, why not give the iconic Brompton folding bikes a go? Brompton Junction is located just beside the mall’s indoor cycling path and allows customers to take their folding bikes for a quick spin to help them get a better feel before purchasing. Did you know that the 73-storey hotel at the Raffles City complex was once the world’s tallest hotel when it was built in 1986? Mall-wise, the Raffles City Shopping Centre has stood the test of time and remains one of Singapore’s popular malls. It’s also where you can find Raffles City Market Place, a premium supermarket that stocks a wide variety of international and premium-grade ingredients you won’t find in regular grocery stores. Liat Tower’s EV car park lot is right next to LingZhi Vegetarian restaurant by the Tung Lok Group — perfect if you’re up for a gourmet vegetarian meal. You can also park at Shaw Centre across the road and give yourself a luxurious French fine-dining experience at multi-award winning Les Amis Restaurant.
